TO ALLOW TWO COURSES TO APPLY AS THOUGH THEY WERE ONE

If a PSNAME ends in  "-2"  ( like IS-2 ) -- that means that you must supply two courses.

1) Enter the PSNAME ending in -2 for the requirement

2) Enter the first course COURSE: 0 PREFIX ### __

3) SEND

4) Hit the End key

5) Place a C after   Option:C   (at the bottom right) and SEND again.

6) You're now on a new screen.  Add the other course:

SPECIAL SITUATIONS
 

If a student who was admitted to UW before autumn quarter 2010 needs these requirements
    1) Go to SRF391 (or hit F10)
    2) Enter the student's number (if you haven't yet) and SEND
    3) Change the top line
          First quarter at the University of Washington: WIN 2010 OVERRIDE: AUT/2010
    4) SEND.
                     A new audit will always use the 2010 Honors Core requirements.
    Later, to make a quick check of how that student would stand on the old requirements
At the top of the 390 screen you see:

3) SEND.  That will reinsert the old Core--for this run only. Next time an audit is run, the new Core will reappear.

To change permanently back to the old, go to the 391 and change "1st Qtr at UW" back to the student's "real" quarter of admission.  (Actually, AUT/2009 is fine for all except PHYS majors: They must be exact.)
 

Allow more than 3 courses to overlap with the major
     NOTE: At present we have no way to make this happen in some interdisciplinary majors. You'll have to
               waive the course and insert a note.  Solution coming in Sept 2011.
Create an XL exception on the SRF370 screen.
Enter the three values in blue:

MAXSRC: __4   (the total number of courses from the major you want to allow)

If a double/triple degree engineering student is seeking honors only in a college that allows any
Honors natural science course (e.g. HONORS 220-222), use this trick:

ENGR-NOT-H        REQSRQ/REQCT: Change # of courses required (ex: -1): _-1
 

To use only one of two or more identical courses taken in the same quarter, e.g. HIST 399:
        1) If the psname ends in "-1" and you want to use the first one on the transcript, that'll work.
        2) If the psname ends in "-2" and you want to use the first two of three, that'll work.

        3) In other cases, write to dars@uw.edu, and we'll figure out some way to do it.
